SEVDAH - KLASIK (Double-Sided Poster (A3 Landscape)).png

The conceptual and artistic director of the Sevdah - Classic project, Uroš Jezdić, has been pursuing the idea of intertwining folk and classical musical heritage for many years. The mutual conceptual and expressive enrichment brings new sound worlds that are rarely represented in Slovenia. Four composers responded to his invitation to arrange music and take a bold leap into the unknown for the first concert.

The concert in December 2024 gave birth to a new and unique sound story, which is also the beginning of further artistic collaborations, as agreements for new arrangements with composers are already underway.

The project was co-financed by the City of Ljubljana - Department of Culture, organized by KUD Pojoča skleda, Eva Jurgec, and Uroš Jezdić.

Glasilu Novo mesto (kultura in umetnost)

"The Sevdah Klasik project was born out of a desire to combine Balkan folk tradition, especially sevdah, with the structures and sound of chamber and concert music. One of the key objectives of the project is to present sevdah on new stages, in arrangements that preserve its emotional authenticity while offering a new perceptual framework. The ensemble, which brings together musicians from different backgrounds, opens up a space between tradition and contemporary interpretation, between memory and the moment when music becomes a living narrative."
